How to run the live auction from your phone
You can run the whole auction from your phone. The live screen keeps the player on the block at the top and puts every control in a dock at the bottom: the Team dropdown, player search, bid stepper and Sold / Unsold / Retain. The round menu button adds extras you can use on any screen size: a big player photo for the projector, full-screen sponsors and a quick way to reach support.

The phone control dock
Search by player number or name, or tap New Player
OptionalOn a phone the live screen splits in two: the player on the block at the top, and a control dock pinned to the bottom with every control you need, so you never scroll to reach Sold.
- The phone layout is used whenever the screen is narrower than 600 pixels, including a small browser window on a laptop.
- This hint shows in the dock while no player is on the block.
New Player
RequiredPuts the next player on the block: the full-width button in the middle of the dock. It follows the Player Selection mode set in the M view (random by default).
- Greyed out while a player is already on the block. Close that lot first.
P No or name
OptionalSearch box at the top right of the dock. Type a player number or part of a name and tap the player to call them to the block.
- The phone keyboard covers part of the screen while you type. Tap the player in the list to close it.
Example: 3 or Kulkarni
Bidding by tap
Select team
RequiredOn a phone the row of team buttons becomes one Team dropdown at the top left of the dock. Picking a team places that team’s bid, exactly like clicking its button on a laptop.
- The first team you pick opens the bid at the base bid. Each different team you pick after that raises it by one bid increment.
- Picking the team that already holds the bid does nothing (when team page bidding is off). Use + to raise the amount instead.
- With team page bidding on, the team holding the bid is greyed out as “(current bid)” and the + / – stepper is hidden, so the next bid must come from another team.
- A team that is full or has no points left is greyed out in the list. If the next bid is above a team’s max bid, you get an error ("… does not have enough points to bid …") instead of a greyed-out option, and the bid is not placed.
- The dropdown shows the team holding the bid, so you can check it at a glance.
- In the Broadcast Theme the dropdown is replaced by a row of team chips.
Example: Bay Hawks, then Lake Kings
+
OptionalThe full-width bid stepper under the team row. + raises the current bid by one increment and – lowers it by one. The amount is shown in words underneath.
- Works only after a team has bid on the player.
- An amount above the bidding team’s max bid or remaining points is refused.
Example: 70 (Seventy)
Sold
RequiredSold, Unsold and Retain sit side by side at the bottom of the dock, with Re-auction under them. They work exactly as on the laptop screen.
- Sold and Retain need a bid; Unsold needs no bid. The other buttons stay greyed out.
- Re-auction brings the last sold or unsold player back on the block.
A
OptionalThe view buttons at the bottom right of the dock: A (auction), S (every team’s purse and squad), P (players) and M (Manage Features).
- There is no F (full screen) button on a phone.
- In S, P and M the dock shrinks to just Re-auction, the view buttons and the menu. Tap A to get the bidding controls back.
Menu extras (the round button)
Enlarge Profile Photo
OptionalShows the current player’s profile photo full screen on the projector screen, so the hall can see who is up. Your own live screen does not change.
- It is a tick box in the menu: tap once to turn it on, again to turn it off.
- Only the projector screen (/projector) follows it. The overlay screen does not.
- Nothing is shown for a player without a profile photo.
- A projector opened later picks up the current setting when it joins.
Enable full screen sponsor (live)
OptionalShows your sponsors full screen on the live screen, a few logos at a time, rotating by category. Tap the X at the top right to close it, which also unticks the option.
- Only listed when the auction has at least one sponsor (add them on the Sponsors tab).
- The full-screen sponsor display covers the controls. Close it before you take the next bid.
- Logos change every Display Duration seconds, set on the Sponsors tab.
Overlay settings
OptionalOpens the Overlay settings page, where you show or hide parts of the stream overlay. Changes sync to overlays that are already open.
- It leaves the live screen. The auction keeps running; select the back arrow to return.
- Always listed.
Dashboard
OptionalJump straight to your dashboard, the auction’s public view page, or the auction’s edit tabs. The auction stays live while you are away.
- View and Edit sit just under Dashboard.
- To come back, open the auction and select Live Auction on the Auction Details tab.
Help
OptionalOpens a Support & Contact box with The 12th Men help desk email and phone number. Tap the email or number to write or call from your phone.
Spin the Wheel
OptionalOpens Spin the Wheel to draw teams into groups. It has its own help guide.
Manage Features shortcuts
Data Panel
OptionalIn Manage Features (M), opens the list of auctions you have joined.
- It leaves the live screen. The auction keeps running.
Team List
OptionalIn Manage Features (M), switches to the S view with every team’s purse and squad.
- Same as tapping S.
Common mistakes
- On a phone you bid by picking a team in the dropdown, not with shortcut keys. The N, S, U and R badges are only for a keyboard.
- To raise the bid for the team already holding it, use + (when team page bidding is off). Picking the same team again does nothing.
- A full-screen sponsor display covers your controls. Tap its X before taking the next bid.
- Enlarge Profile Photo only changes the projector screen. If the projector shows nothing, the player has no profile photo.
- Keep your phone charged and on a steady connection. If the Live badge drops, every control locks until you reconnect.
